jimbob
97 pathy 3.3l no start. have fuel at the rails, removed spark plug, held to ground while cranking and have good spark. nothing when I spray starter fluid in. truck is new to me, looks like it has a new distributor, new plug wires. crank sensor measures about 200ohms, what to look for? tks
jimbob
strangely when I first started working on it the crankshaft position sensor was unplugged, but it actually tried to run better than before I plugged it in. Installed a new dist this evening, no change. Checked compression on no.1 120psi. suspecting my fuel injectors. I don't smell any gas fumes.. but it also doesn't even try to start when shooting starter fluid in it.
Slartibartfast
If it's got spark, but won't kick on ether, that suggests the timing is way out. Either the last person to replace the dizzy didn't time it right, or the timing belt slipped. The dizzy's easy enough to set up if you have a timing light. The belt can result in bent valves. I'd check the belt first.
