Brake light

Hi everyone hey just wondering if anyone has any idea with regard to my problem of a brake light flicker.

A brief run down of what I have done: new pads all round, it has disc front and rear also a new master cylinder has been installed. All well and truly bled of any air at the pipe connections on the master cylinder and then also on all the calliper bleed nipples l/r r/r l/f r/f order.

The brakes come up nice and hard and responsive on the road, The problem is when the motor is running with no hand brake on if I hit the brake pedal several times reasonably rapid and firm I get the brake light on the dash panel flickering on for a second or two.

I cant get a warrant of fitness sticker cause the warrant guy says its showing a fault trouble is he doesn't have an idea of what would cause it he said himself the brakes felt good.

 

This is on a 92 terrano td27 manual.

I would check the blinker fluid, sounds like it could be low a quart...

Master cylinder needs some fluid, or the switch could be loose on the reservoir...

Had a chat with a brake specialist he's under the impression the booster's are over sized on terrano's and that I may have a very slight leak on mine. He said not to worry take it back to the warrant of fitness guy get him to run it through again if he doesn't pass it then tell him the brakes tested up well within warrant of fitness standards at a brake specialist -argue- . Then go elsewhere cause he is being a fussy bugger and shouldn't be testing the brakes with repeated firm pumps on them for a warrant.

 

treywurst: I checked the fluid level it was fine it appears the blinker is only any good for 100'002 blinks so mines worn out so will only blink for a second or two and then gives up on it expecting me to use my arm
