tacoman
Nissan recommends using two types of sealants, each in a different location, when reinstalling the tranny. KP510-00150 and KP610-00250 (or equivalent). Does anyone know what the real world equivalent to these goops are? I suspect one is silicone and the other is some kind of non hardening greasey stuff. Precise1
I cant remember the exact answer, but I remember determining that a plain old RTV (silicone) with good oil resistance was fine for sealing the lower half of the bell housing. I'll look for the tube when I get home... B
88pathoffroad
Yep, RTV silicone works fine.
Precise1
I used Permatex Ultra Grey sensor safe RTV silicone gasket maker... figured I could use it for other things also... B
Reido
Yeah I just did this this last weekend. RTV works fine. I also layed in on real thick on and around the clutch fork boot to seal that off. I think water and mud in there is what did in my first clutch/throwout bearing.
