Clutch/transmission problems

Hi everyone,

I am having problems engaging and disengaging the clutch on my 5 speed 2002 Pathfinder. On Sunday morning I went to go out of my driveway and stalled a few times, found that weird. It appeared that the clutch was sticking to the floor in 1st gear. All other gears the clutch would pop back up to regular position. I took apart the slave, master, and lineset to make sure everything was clean and bled properly. Still with no dice, I replaced the master and slave cylinder. My clutch now doesn't engage or disengage property, the first half of the pedal does nothing. Doesn't matter what gear I'm in.

Underneath the car it looks like the fork on the transmission isn't coming all the way back to push the slave pin, which would then push my pedal back up. I have been doing some research and this sounds like an issue with my clutch diaphragm spring or pressure plate. It seems like there is no other way to tell what's going on other than removing the transmission and inspecting. The previous owner did have the clutch done about a year or 2 ago, but this was my first manual car and may have taken some abuse.

So my question is, do I go ahead and order a clutch kit, rip the tranny out and have at it? Or is there any other way to diagnose this issue? I have good mechanical experience and the required jacks to do a clutch, but I would prefer not to if possible. I am attaching a picture of where the fork on the transmission sits in its resting position.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for the tip! It ended up working out, when I put the new master cylinder in, I adjusted the pedal to whatever the old one was set at. Apparently this was wrong, with some pedal adjustment everything is working great.
