New with a few '87 pathy questions

Whats goin on fellas?New to the board here.Have a few questions the first one is......im having a problem with my lights....one low beam light works...when switched over to high beam neither side works...had a shop put new bulbs in and still the same problem only one low beam works.All other lights around vehicle work fine.Kinda stumped on this..... :confused: ......next a couple years back I had a used fuel pump put in and during this process one of my fuel guages has stopped working......my pathy has the duel fuel guages....anyways it was working fine until this fuel pump was installed...also I have smelled fuel odor ever since than as well....could this be the fuel pump sending unit causing both these problems or was the wrong fuel pump put in?I went round and round with this particular shop a couple years back to fix this problem and never have worked it out.Last question......I currently have the stock adjustable shocks still on my pathy that need changing and was wondering if it would be best to just get some good aftermarket shocks put on or try and put new factory adjustable shocks on...just curious because the elctronics that control my shocks still seem to work fine......??ny response to my questions is appreciated.Thanks bros!

1. Your headlight switch needs to be cleaned or replaced.

2. I bet one of the sending unit wires isn't hooked up properly.

3. Could be a bad seal on top of the gas tank, from when they replaced it, OR one of the fuel feed, return or vent lines could be rusted through and/or they accidentally damaged one of them while installing the pump.

4. If you like the adjustable feature and the shocks work OK for you, go with stock replacements. If you want heavier-duty, stiffer shocks for off-road use, get aftermarket replacements by Rancho, Pro-Comp, Bilstein, KYB or Monroe.
