Valve Cover Gasket... rocker arm colors... reading the oil gunk?

Any ideas on why some are dirtier then others...

 

First time open since factory I would think... changed the gasket.. would any of this benefit cleaning? Or would that make things worse?

 

Def some sludge up there.... but I bet there is a lot worse out their. 1d91dcc17485048d03d327de1bac28bf.jpg

I just did the easy side this evening. Luckily that was the only side leaking like crazy. It had a big break in the gasket witch was hard as a rock. Lucky I have had a new sitting on the shelf..

Mostly it follows your oil change interval and type of oil.

This is 7000mile oil changes with havoline and castrol dyno oil:

I agree with Slart, that discoloration on your rockers is probably from the PCV system.
