Swapping Center Console from QX4 to Pathfinder?

Hey everyone,

 

I have an 02 Pathfinder. I got most of the mechanics the way I want it and I'm looking to improve the interior a bit. I love the center console on the QX4s and 04 Pathfinder Platinums. Would it be an easy swap? It looks like buying the full console and the shifter is all that's necessary. Anyone tried it?

Had to look up the differences, but yeah, perhaps the console and shifter should be all that's necessary...though, is yours either 2WD or All-Mode 4wd? If you're part time 4WD, you'd have to modify the console for the shifter, and I'm not sure if it'd be the same opening sizes.

I think I have the All-Mode 4WD. I have the dial that says 2WD, AUTO, 4HI, and 4LO. I'll give it a shot one day. I also want to swap in a QX4 instrument cluster. Got one off eBay for $30.

Yep, if you've got a dial switch and not a second shifter, you've got the All-Mode. In that case, you shouldn't need a new shifter, only the console.

Thanks for the reply . I may try it out one day. Thinking more about it, I may leave it be. I have bad luck trying to change things that aren't broken.
