95 Pathfinder engine trouble

So I've been reading a lot from this forum for some time now, just now getting around to joining. First off, thank you to all the brilliant minds on here that know the ins, and outs of these vehicles! Secondly, I need some of your help. A week or so ago my engine went bang. OK not good right, finally got it towed back home and discovered that my timing belt was broken. After a little more digging I also discovered one of the lesser seen problems of the timing gear keyway stripped out pretty bad, and had some play in it, as well as the tensioner spring being totally off. Now this is the chicken or the egg part in my mind. Nonetheless I fixed those three issues. Got a timing belt, welded up the keyway, and got everything set back right. The engine seems to turn over well, and I'm not hearing any colliding anywhere in there. She still won't fire up though, it just sounds like it's blankly turning over. Now I'm running out of ideas, need your help SOS

Compression check would be the step after what K9 said. If some cylinders have no/low compression, you might have valve/piston damage. If all cylinders have no/low compression, you probably have something off in the timing department and you need to figure that out.

I'm assuming your ignition timing is correct, you checked for spark and are getting fuel?
