shanee11 Posted February 16, 2016 Share Posted February 16, 2016 hi everyone, i have a wd21 terrano 1990 well i have remove one of the tailgate gas struts to repair cracks in side section of tailgate these are due to pressure and leverage from regased struts repair went well but how do i get the strut back on ????? the pressure in these struts is amazing i can only just move them a fraction i have tried top bolt first and then bottom bolts first still no luck this maybe covered elsewhere on here but please help cheers,shane..... hawairish Posted February 16, 2016 Share Posted February 16, 2016 Are they different length struts by some odd chance? You may just need to unbolt one end of the other strut so that you can lift the tailgate a little higher. You may need to prop up the tailgate or get some help. I actually had this exact problem the other week, but on a different vehicle (changing them on my R50 has been a snap). The replacement struts were longer than OE by a full inch (despite being "OE" match), so I had to do what I described above to make it work.
