T37923
I have a 2005 and the fuel gauge stopped working a while back. I know it's the sensor in the tank. Until today I thought I would have to drop the tank to replace the sensor. Someone told me that there may be an access panel in the back of the truck to get to the pump wthout having to drop the tank? Anyone know where it is without me just going out there and ripping my truck apart?
01Pathmaker
2005 (R51) might not be in the same spot as the R50 (96-04) but it's easy enough to look for. On the R50 it's under the rear seat on the drivers side, under the sound/heat matting.
RedPath88
On WD21's (87-95) it is in the cargo area. So look under the truck, locate the tank and then removed carpet, tip or remove seats, whatever is directly above it to see if there is a panel there. Unless of course someone verifies its location... or non-existence.EDIT: According to the FSM, which can be found by going HERE which is the topic pinned in The Garage, to get the pump out the procedure detailed is for dropping the tank. but it might still be worth looking, you might get lucky and save yourself a bunch of time and work. Also as a side note, I removed the duplicate thread. If your using Tapatalk please ignore the errors it gives and just refresh the post/topic listings after you submit and you will find that your content was added, despite what the app my have told you.
