Jerky 1st Gear

Hi y'all. I have a '98 Pathfinder SE with the automatic transmission. I bought it used a couple months ago and love the thing. I do have a question about the transmission, though. Is it normal for the shift between 1st and 2nd gears to be a bit on the jerkey side? Like I said I got it used so I don't know if it was always like that. Figured I'd run it by some other Pathfinder owners to see if y'alls does the same thing. Thanks.

incidentally i just swapped my tranny fluid and it did help ever so slightly!!

i don't know if your trucks have the shift selenoid but if that is broken/plugged/etc... it will act just like you describe.. also, sometimes the linkage needs to be re-adjusted...
