Here's a nifty Pana-Vice phone holder mod for the early square dash WD21's

I used a Pana-vise mount where the cigarette lighter socket used to be. The pics tell the story. I used some stainless 10/32 bolts and nyloc nuts on the backside. This is WAY better than the 3M VHB tape on the top of the dash...

I never used that socket for anything. I bought a high-wattage USB converter that I wired up under te dash, and thats what the two USB plugs that hang out on either side of the console are for.

 

I know back in the good 'ol days everybody smoked, but now having that whole area of my dash dedicated to a lighter and ashtray is a waste. I'm going to remove the ashtray next and put one of these in its place.

IT's the ideal size to fit in the ashtray spot.
