Xterra SC wheels on 96 2wd

So I picked up a set of these wheels and they have 285/70r17s on them. Got what I think was a great deal off C-list.

I've been running 31x10.50r15 with the stock wheels with only slight rubbing issues during full lock turns.

I was not expecting these to fit but I figured I would try it on anyway, the fronts slip on to the studs Butthead the strut before it will seat on the rotor, the back fit just fine it's close but they fit.

I am currently watching a set of wheel spacers on eBay hoping an inch and a half should be fine up front and leave the back without spacers. Has anyone ran a similar set up? I am looking to lift it 2-2.5" a bit later and hoping to fit 33s.

I love these wheels! I will post pics after work.

And how the front will look...

And how they fit in the rear no spacers and no lift....

Gotta get those spacers and get the fronts put on soon.

So my wheel spacers arrived today, I'm l crazy excited right now!! I have the S/C wheels on the rear of the pathy and even though these wheels require a specific lug nut I'm currently running with the stock Pathfinder nuts even though the tapered nut doesn't match to the flat mag style surface of the xterra wheels.

Just incase anyone else is planning on a similar wheel change be prepared for $6 bucks a nut for the Nissan style from your basic parts store, but I found all 24 on ebay for 33.00 shipped.

May be a few days but I'll be posting pics once they are all mounted.

Looks great. Don't drive too long with the wrong lug nuts. It would be a bummer if they loosened up and caused damage to your new wheels or even worse, caused a crash. By the way, it looks like you need an alignment. The original wheel/tire you removed is severly worn on the inside, indicating a toe-out alignment condition. Bad alignment will wear out those nice BFG MT's very quickly.

yeah I saw that wear...I'll be getting the alignment done right after I get the tires put on. & I order the lug nuts last night so they should be here by the weekend hopefully. Thanks for the tips

  • 2 weeks later...

So I got my adapters and front wheels/tires put on and trimmed the front fenders and bumper a bit..

Then had the chance to park next to a stock pathy at the store and couldn't pass up the photo op... It does show the beefier stance with just wheels, tires and 2" adapters up front ...

So I'm having an issue with tracking down the correct style lug nuts for these wheels. I've been running the standard tapered acorn style nuts from the stock wheels and though I have no wobble, I know they are the wrong ones and want it fixed.

I am getting about 9 turns with the stock nuts and I purchased a set of mag style (extended shank and washer style) but when I tried to put them on the shank is too large in diameter to fit inside the holes of the wheels, I get 10 turns but there is no taper to them and the washer doesn't seat, it's just lose in there.

I did some more searching and found these which I think are correct but would love some back up on this or hear from someone else who has these on a pathfinder or xterra. I have looked on the xterra sites as well and didn't run across much help. Thank a bunch.

These are the tapered mag style nuts I purchased, but the tapered end of the shaft just meets the wheel same as the standard nut does. I'm assuming the shank on the photo above should go through the hole in the wheel and the tapered should then seat on the wheel...
