Timing belt question.

So I'm doing my water pump so I figured I would get the belt while I was at it. Waiting for the belt to come in so here is the question can I just put the new belt right back as long as my engine ran fine before I took it apart and never turned the The cam sprockets or the crank timing sprocket separately, does that make it ok for me to slip the belt on however?

Sorry if im not asking this right but I've read up on it and it seems to be ok as long as I don't turn the sprockets.
