looking for a VQ35DE

So, my brother ran his pathfinder (2004) without changing the oil and the motor is now done. Does any one here have a spare they are selling or know of any one who does? The vehicle is located in Austin TX and I'm looking to do this job over x-miss holidays. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that I can use one from 2000-2004, some of the accessory parts will have to be used off on the blown motor depending on the year. Also, is there any other vehicle that uses the same motor that will be a plug and play option with the current wiring harness. Please forgive the noob questions I am a Jeep guy and don't know PF's at all.

Not sure how much you are looking to spend. LKQ offers some very nicely priced (IMHO) rebuilt motors with awesome warranties (like 10 year unlimited mile) as well as low mile salvage ones. We use them often here at work.

 

You can also check your local salvage yards. See if they offer any sort of warranty on a used motor (1 month, 3 month, 6, etc). Many do these days.
