Slartibartfast
That's why I suggested just rotating them, assuming the rear tires are in better shape than the fronts.

fpf
Ok went with your advice and bought some new tires and got it aligned. The wandering issue is completely gone. Im amazed at how such a simple issue can cause such a horrible driving experience. The only issue now is a washboard type vibration when the hubs are engaged. Other than that this is one nice pathy. Im seriously debating on keeping it now lol. Wish this forum allowed you to just upload pics from your computer. I think you guys would appreciate this vehicle.... oh well. Thank you all for the help. This community has been awesome.

Slartibartfast
Good to hear! The remaining washboard effect has to be something to do with the front drivetrain, if it only does it with the hubs locked. Looks like CVs are ruled out, so I would have a look at the U joints in the front drive shaft. Looking back over the thread, you might also want to pick up an idler arm brace if you haven't yet, looks like it's the last weak link in the front end.
