tdurb1327
Ok. So I am starting to think lifting my 2000 R50 was a bad idea. 2" AC lift installed and now I am having nothing but problems. All if the old suspension and steering components must not be able to handle the strain. My newest problem is I completely lost power steering now. The belt is good and tight on the pump. The fluid is not leaking and there is no whining or noises when turning. I am hoping it is not the rack and pinion but it isn't looking good. The steering is near impossible to turn side to side. Tie rods look good also. So any tips on how to check if the pump or rack is bad? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Slartibartfast
The last guy who blew his R50's steering lost the rack. If the center seal in the rack goes it won't leak (externally) but it won't power steer, either. I imagine if the pump was shot it would be making all kinds of noises. I'm not sure how to go about tracking it down for sure, though.
Leo98
Check the ground attatched to the block on the drivers side. Service manual says its for the power steering oil pressure switch.
