Small ticking lifter on my 1991 v6

How do you go about fixing that issue?, My repair books don't really explain.

Well in another topic I've heard adding a bit of ATF can quieten lifters.

now, are you sure its Lifter? and not an exhaust tick? broken/cracked manifolds at idle sound like tapping lifters sometimes.

 

If your sure. i would try flushing the engine with either ATF, or a Good Quality Engine flush kit.

Make sure it is a lifter not a exhaust leak like 89 said. Will it go away-no. The lifter is starting to collapse or a outside chance it is sticking. What the atf will do is free up a sticking lifter if that is the case.

Ok, Thanks, I just fixed all the exhaust leaks a month ago.
