Pay your electric bill and save $$ on GAS :)

I don't know if this program is available in all areas but where ever you are, I'd check into it. I have for my electric provider IGS Energy , formerly known as Dynowatt. Right now I'm locked in at around .12 cents per Kwh. Well, they offer this promo that if you sign up with them, and also sign with Fuelrewardsnetwork.com you get .05 cents off every gallon of gas (up to 20 gallons) *when you fill up at participating Shell gas stations* per every $50 that you spend on your home's electric bill. So, say your bill for the previous month was $284 you would get .25 cents per gallon off the listed price. The remaining portion of your bill gets rolled into the next month of points.

It doesn't end there, you don't need to be an IGS energy customer to earn points, every time I swipe my MasterCard on certain items, sometimes its electronics or hardware store items (I once earned a lot of points for the purchase of a new lawnmower and accompanying warranty) you'll automatically earn points. There are also some participating restaurants if you eat there, you'll earn points.

There is also an app for you phone that shows you where participating Shell gas stations are and what the fuel price is there at that station and shows your savings, what you'll pay per gallon. I really like it, think it's pretty neat. Here's a pic of my receipt from filling up today. I got .30 cents off per gallon.

It's a nice little treat once a month. Oh yeah, almost forgot, it's totally free to join, no catch. Not that I've seen anyway, I've not experienced any fraud either.

I have something similar through Shell. Literally 3 minutes from my house i have a QFC (food store) they offer a program where you can save up to a dollar a gallon on gas. For every hundred dollars you spend at the store, you save 10 cents per gallon within a months span. Sounds like a bad deal, but i spend maybe $50 (at most) a month there, and my parents do alot of of their shopping there. , it gets even better when they only fill up at the Costco gas down the hill (mom has been working their for almost a decade and a half and i just started working their a week ago, you could say we are fairly loyal) so they just let me have their savings!! The most i have ever had off was 70 cents. plenty of food stores in my area have it. Apparently Fred Meyer has something with Texaco? and while coming back from California in my buddies BMW, we stopped in Oregon (somewhere) and had them fill us up, gave them his phone number and poof a dollar off a gallon. We got 92 Premium for like $2.76 a gallon!!

Wow, that's cool! We've also got sorta the same thing at Krogers grocery stores but I don't really get into it..I guess because I don't really see any benefit to it...and I don't hardly shop there very much...they don't give more than maybe .10 cents a gallon off...so, I'd rather keep the points on my card and get discounts on food and other stuff...
