Just out of curiosity..... How would one mount one if it did NOT come stock with one? Or can it? I assume it would need some more "meat" to mount to next to the taillight?

You would probably have to pull that section of the rear quarter, I'm not sure of what is exactly back there, but you'll need all of it, especially if you are running 30" plus size tires and steel wheels.
