Body paint and alloy wheel restoration?

First post! I'm not new to wrenching but this is my first truck/suv and my first Nissan so I'll probably be asking a lot of questions on this site. First off, after searching the forums I can't find any information about how to remove scratches or repaint parts of the body. I have an R50 which has a hard clear coat which I have never dealt with before. Anything special I need to know about buffing the whole thing and repainting my hood? Can I just have paint mixed at napa that will match up well? And I'd also like to know if the alloy wheels we have are clear coated or not. Thanks in advance everyone!

15x7 Alloy wheels? Like the ones in my sig? If so; Yes, they have a clear on them.

Ok I am on my phone right now, so my comments will be brief. In terms of removing scratches, first look into Meguiars Ultimate Compound. Works great on scratches in my pathy or Ram. Very easy to learn. You can use it by hand or polisher (polisher will always give a better result). Do you have a polisher?

 

As far as alloy wheels, unfortunately in many cases, deeper imperfections are professional level issues. However, I can say with relative confidence that all factory rims have clear coat. What are the problems you are having with the alloys? There may be a polish to at least help, I recommend Meguiars Hot Rims polishes.

You can apply paint stripper to the wheels and strip the clear coat off, repolish and spray new clear coat. There are a few video training on u tube that shows how to get the best results
