Hey guys, My Names Jake.

I just recently bought a 1994 Nissan pathfinder SE 4x4. its my second one, and this one i'm actually planning to use it right! lol

my first one, (god bless her soul) was amazing. never had ANY mechanical failures, and lived to 265k miles before she had a sudden loss of power :'( sad day. i was forced to sell because i couldn't afford an engine at the time. Loved her, she was a 1992 Pathfinder Xe 4x4. simple mods, 31's, 2" body lift. showed up some local jeep guy when i went everywhere his 6" lifted 33's WJ went. and most the time i went easier then he did!

so. my goals. i want a Tuff looking Pathy, BUT i have to be able to Tow my Racecar still (Love my Mazda's) so can't go all out crazy, but i DO want to enjoy any mods i do. (planning Lift, bigger tires, Engine mods, ect.) so figured i'd join up and get started learning from the pro's!

oh, as a plus. i'm a Technician for Nissan ^_^ lol Heres some pics of the new girl

Howdy Jake! Welcome to NPORA and congrats on the second Pathy, I'm in the same boat.

A few (hopefully) helpful suggestions...

Go to the Garage and in a pinned topic you will find a link to a free FSM for download. Do so... ;)

Assuming your spare is the same size/type as the other 4, get it mounted on a Lego rim like the other 4. This is quite important, especially on a tow rig.

Speaking of tow rigs, you should probably get a hitch first...

Welcome Jake! I am pretty new to this forum and Pathys as well. I have gleaned a lot of info from the guys on here, they are always willing to help and have gotten me headed in the right direction with mine. Nice to hear about your buddy in the Jeep, a buddy of mine with a YJ is giving me crap. I hope after a few suspension mods I can prove him wrong too !!

See you around the forums....

and yes.... it'll get a hitch lol i only bought the truck 2 weeks ago! :P :p

Welcome to NPORA man! My daily is a '92 Miata so, I guess you can chalk me up for the love of the Mazda's as well. :aok:

Thank you!

My love is an addiction.... at one point i had 5 Mazda's sitting in my Driveway... lol all mine are in my Sig, and i currently OWN each and every one lol

Yeah, i used to have a ZJ also (thats how i hang out with the Jeepers) and they went on a run, and i decided to actually use my Pathfinder off road (she was Quite the Mall Crawler) and i was surprised how well she did. its amazing the amount of flex, and stability these pathfinders have!! thats probably why they are so popular! lol.

 tis a helpful part of the whole towing operation!

workin on it! lmao

Whoops? Whoops? Really? We have long standing members that haven't figured out the dreaded multi quote. Only four posts in and I've already " " 'd.

Your name reminds me of the 74 Mazda truck I saw at my local yard the other day. It'd be fun to build one, pity they won't let you buy it once its in the yard.

Really? They won't let you buy it out right? I'll have to check our local "U-Pull-It" policy on full vehicle purchases. Well, if it involves a '96 Prelude, '92 Miata, '99.5 Pathy, or a '77 CJ5.

i'mma forum Junkie..... i acutally get pissed when forums don't have a multi quote. i'll actually Copy/Paste quotes and make them into one reply just so i can multi post lol

And Utah has the same law regarding Junkyard cars. once its in the Junkyard its considered Un Registerable. and they CANNOT sell one to you. its sad.... i saw a 1972 Datsun 510 wagon in the JY..... body was CLEAN and the engine was gone... interior we a 5/10 but fuuuuuuuu i wanted it soooo bad!!

Ok multi-quote monkey!! :D

So, yeah, Pathfinders are the kind of vehicle you can get attached to. They all have their own personalities and the rare few have some problems, but otherwise they are very reliable, decent driving vehicles (once a few things are addressed) that you get 'used to'. They do suprisingly well offroad stock (especially with LSD) and do even better with lifts and lockers, but that is where it ends. Jeep and Toyota aftermarket is 10-100x better so we can't compete, but if you want a reasonably capable daily driver that is decent off-road and won't let you down, you bought the right truck and came to the right place. ;)

Yeah, I loved driving mine. i didn't do much offroading mostly, because i thought it was lame. and drifting/AutoX took up all my time. but when i went out with the Jeeps, i found it was a whole different challenge. and while, i may never be a full on "Off Roader" i do like the idea of loading up my family, heading up a trail, and having a pic-nic. and i definatly LOVE the style of the WD21. and enjoy how they drive and definatly how reliable they are!. my first WD21 went through hell because i was in school and sometime she went 8 - 10k on a oil change :( i couldn't afford to change the oil, but i would add a quart and change the filter every once and a while. and she NEVER quit! only "failure" i had was a leaky Clutch Slave cylinder. which cost my 8$ and 15 mins of my time and BAM! back to full strength!

I'm looking forward to learning all the tricks of the trade. and learning anything to keep my Pathy Running and Pullin Strong!

OH!!! while i'm thinking about it. these are some parts i wanna order soon..ish. lol
