Hey all, having problems with the charging system on my 94 pathy LE 4X4. Changed the battery and alternater and my "BlueTurle" is not getting enough juice to keep it going. Ideas anyone?

Have you checked the volts your alternator is putting out while running?

If its a solid 12-14v. But your battery keeps getting drained then you have a short somewhere.

I had a phone charger cause that for me once. I just had to be the one that stays in the back port.

But time to bust out the test light and Fluke and chase wires.

First, make sure you are getting a good connection at the battery terminals and also where the ground strap connects to the chassis/frame/motor. Next, grab a multimeter or someone who has one. Check the voltage of the battery disconnected, check the voltage connected, check the voltage with the ignition on, measure the voltage drop when you start it and measure the voltage when it is running.

Should be something like this: 12.7V, 12.6V, 12.4V, 10+V, 13-14V.

 

That should help us define what the problem is.
