Unknown ground wire?

Hey everyone I was putting in some oil in my 1995 se and noticed a small braided wire about a 1/4 inch wide just hanging not attached to anything.It originates under the fuel filter looks like it's plugged in under the fuel filter bracket then ends with a round washer.I have no Idea what it;s supposed to attach to.It's total lenth is around six or seven inches.Anybody else know? I dont know anywhere I can look at a pathfinder to see as they are pretty scarce in these parts.Thank's

Sounds like the ground wire that runs from the exhaust manifold to the fender well.

Yeah, that's the one that is connected to the exhaust manifold, usually by a bolt that holds the tin piece to the manifold.

Thank you silverton yes the tin heat shield that covers the passenger side manifold I now know exactly where to reconnect it.Thank's again you guys are the best.JACK IN IOWA!!!!
