Tranny prob.

Hi guys n gals. Ok I bought me a 93 Pathy v6 5speed VE for $500. The reason I got it for $500 is..... Well the tranny isnt right. You can drive it in 1,3and 5th but it goes into nutaul just fine but it won't go in to the 2,3 or R. Does anybody know why. The other question I have is can I use the tranny from the 4 cylinder? I wish I could upload pics from my phone. I build my own snorkel and camo painted it. Any ways. If y'all know how to fix my tranny please let me know. Thanks...

Do you mean it drives in 1-3-5 but wont go into 2-4-R? Any grinding in the gears it will go into? Hard to get into those?

 

A 4 cylinder transmission will not fit, sorry.

I can drive it just fine in 1 ,3 and 5th but the whole for 2,4 and R it won't go down in the whole for them gears but drives fine 4x4 works great I took it up Aetna mountain so I know the 4x4 works fine.

my buddies Toyota tacoma had a problem going into certain gears and all it turned out to be was the bushing under the shifter, may want to check the simple things first.

Once you go from 1st to nutraul it stops there like there isn't a place for 2,3 or R

I agree. Pull the shifter first. Its the easiest thing to do.

I seem to remember someone having to replace the plastic cup the shifter sits in (or something like that). The fact you can't seem to reach any gear you have to pull back to engage seems like a misalignment or position.
