AirBag Sensor in steering?

I recently replaced my rack and pinion along with outer tie rod ends on my 97 Pathfinder. All was fine for about a week. Today I heard a weird noise when I was in a turn, then again with a snapping sound coming from behind the steering wheel. Since then my airbag light has been flashing... I pulled the fuse just to make sure I didn't get a deployment but I don't know where to go from there to fix whatever I messed up!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

I did check the horn today and indeed it does not work. Thank you for your help! I will order the part and follow the instructions for removal and replacement. Greatly appreciated!

Yep.........steering angle sensor (aka clock spring)

not a cheap part either...

should be part number: 25554-0P025

I can get if for you for $433.40 (nissan list: $481.56)

I see you are in Roanoke, I am in McKinney. If you want to give me a call tomorrow I can check your VIN and see what part it does use and see what I can do for you.
