ahardb0dy
I picked up a new serpentine belt from Rockauto for my wives friend that lives with us, she has a 2007 Nissan Sentra 2.0, I get the old belt off fine but can not get the new belt over the last pulley. I wrote rockauto to tell them and they asked me to measure the belt and try again. I just tried to put it on again a minute ago and I get the same result, belt seems like is about 1/4" too short. Rockauto says the belt may be hard to get on and they haven't had any issues in the past with this part number. I don't think I should have to force the belt on over the last pulley, I think the belt should go on easily than the tensioner will keep it in proper tension. Am i wrong about this??? the part is a dayco measures 47.5 factory according to Rob is 47 7/8" , If i measure the inside length of the new belt is like 47.25" Rockauto lists different brand belts for this car and 3 of the other one's all say the belt is 48.25" long but rockauto says different manufacturers measure differently?? Tungsten
It's a common problem with aftermarket belts. They can either be too short or too long. Your best bet is to return that belt and try another brand.
