Lift questions

I have a 89 XE-V6 two door Pathfinder and I am wanting to put a lift on it. I was wondering what the steps would be in order to add a body lift and suspension lift. As well as what other parts I will need to replace when installing the lift? Can anyone who has done the lift process offer a little advice?

THanks

Try using the search feature with words like "body lift", "suspension lift", "torsion bar", "springs". Look in the garage, at the top under "important topics", this whole place is full of info. I'm getting ready to lift mine, and have found tons of info, just have to read around a little. One of the guys here has a very comprehensive site for the pathy enthusiast: wd21forums.damagedreality.com/phpbb/index.php

Also try the forums at 4x4parts.com, same deal there. Good luck.

Only recomendation, you get what you pay for, so stay away from Automotive Customizers aka AC. I have had first hand experience that thier products are poor fit and ever poorer quality. And to beat a dead horse, use the search function at the top right of the forum pages.

Hi there from down under. Suspension lifts are pretty straight forward. New longer shocks and springs will sort the rear, and you can get a bit of lift on the torsion bars at front by turning them on the spline. The body lift is a bit trickier, but you just have to be methodical and lengthen everything that runs between the body and the chassis/motor. Sounds like there are kits available in US that will probably address these issues for you. The benefits of even a moderate lift are well worth the effort. Go to it!
