PivoArch
Just curious if anyone could give me a ballpark weight on the front axle? I'm going to go pick one up and I was just curious. Thanks in advance.

PivoArch
no...sorry, I was talking about what the service manual calls the Front Final Drive, or I guess the Front Differential Carrier?
01silvapathy
The front cv is around 20, the actual front diff is around 80 or 90 if I had to guess....never actually picked it up but moved it around on a jack lol
muddfildvaynes
Yea it is pretty heavy.... and I am a strong guy.... when I did my SFD and took it out I had to use a jack to lift it and hold in place while I reconnected it; but it was also still full of fluid. PivoArch
Ok, I was figuring it had to be somewhere near 100 pounds. Just curious cause I'm picking it up from 02silverpathy, he's aobut 3.5 hours away from me and I was thinking of bringing a vehicle more fuel effiecent than the pathy to go get it. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't so heavy that I would need the pathy to bring it home. Thanks for the input guys.
