smoke Posted February 11, 2011 Share Posted February 11, 2011 For some unknow reason my rear hatch is jammed shut.....it will not open.... The latch unit releases but something in the mechinism is still not working. I took off the rear panal of the door and got to the mechinism and it looks like everything is working properly, but still no unlocking. I really dont know what to do. Only thing i can think of is cutting it out and i dont want to do that with out knoing what is going to happen if I do...any help is very welcome. DanAK Posted February 12, 2011 Share Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) I agree. Or spray a touch of oil in there, that completely fixed the hatch on my 4runner. Or try to flex the rear suspension then open the back (hopefully this will not be the right solution because if it is your frame might be a little out of whack). I've fixed several of them this way.. worth a try. funny, a buddy of mine was saying... it won't upen, its unlocked.. bla bla bla i went right over and opened it..
