WOT
I came across a very good deal on ebay for the maxima maf that is supposed to be a direct replacement for our 01 R50. I was reading this post on another forums and am wonderring if anyone has the same issue. http://forums.nicoclub.com/huge-power-loss-is-maxima-maf-really-the-same-p0100-p1165-t518531.html http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330498217353&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Did anyone get CEL's when putting in this sensor or notice its physical size difference?? Or was yours exactly the same sensor just under a different part number? Picture side by side would be great!!! I want to buy from that same seller since it is an amazing price and mine has never been change. But I dont want the problems that Qx4 is having. Daddy Rim
I used the Maxima MAF, can't remember the part number. The physical appearance was identical to my 01. I've been running the Maxima MAF since 2005 without issues. Something definitely odd with that purchase.. perhaps a mixup in part numbers? WOT
Ya the post he says it is the correct part number, but theres a few irregularities. I emailed the seller Nissanofchekapeake aswell, but that was 2 days ago and they still havent gotten back to me. They even list the cross reference part numbers in the auction. So Id ASSUME they would be the exact same sensor, size length and everything. Didnt want to waste $
WOT
He just posted a quote from a dealer aswell. Basically confirming they are physically different but function the same. I think Ill go ahead and buy one, but I dont get why they say its physically different but peopoe that have bought this same part, same part number, say its physically IDENTICAL "I got this answer from a nissan dealer today. "Physically, they are different as it is not the same part number. However,we have found that it will work on a Pathfinder or QX4.We haven't had any problems with the ones we have done here in the shop.Keep in mind the exact nissan replacement part is about 500.00 If you do have any problems or can't make it work it can always be returned for a refund.Thanks." WOT
anybody else try this sensor recently and notice the difference?
Towncivilian
Since you bought your sensor from eBay, how about you go to your local dealer and verify that it's really the correct part? Maybe the MAF the dealership claims works fine is newer than the one you bought (i.e. the part you bought might have been superseded).

I havent bought the sensor yet, I was hoping to hear about it and if it actually worked as a drop in on 01's My local dealer also only lists the MAF 4w001 and wouldnt cross refernce anything for me or entertain the idea of another part from another nissan fitting my car, but he seemed fairly new
