The always annoying A/C system...

the expansion valve could still be bad even though you've had it vacuumed out. The OEM drier has the sight glass haven't see an aftermarket one with the glass, what do you mean you have a wire going to the old drier? the dual pressure switch should screw into the drier but don't know of another wire that goes to it.

yes thats what i was talking about, that dual pressure switch

the new drier does not seem to have a hole to screw the switch to but it does have two nuts on the sides so maybe i have to remove one nut and put the switch there :scratchhead:

when did I yell at you?? I thought I was right anyway, LOL

drier should look just like this, if it doesn't than it's not the right part:

Yea man, that is her...I always get the parts confused, people look at me funny when I am like you want to replace your drier with your compressor to extend your warranty? Then they say uhhh it does not have one...

LOL

That is interesting because the drier was the correct part listed for this truck but yet there is no hole, just nuts on both sides.

Would logic dictate to remove those nuts?

Furthermore, I found all the O-rings necessary in a big O-ring kit, even the thick ones to replace those R12 ones in the high pressure hose. I may as well just have a working A/C system for under $200. Also, I ordered the expansion valve as I could just not get the old one off the old evaporator. *my "vocabulary" is so small*!!

  • 3 weeks later...

Here is the latest update:

Yes the drier has a nut which is removable, the sensor goes in there. I replaced the condenser but it turned out to be defective so now I'm waiting until the rain stops so I can put one in from another manufacturer.

Just a heads up, I did get another drier from NAPA and guess what, I got the same part number but the item inside the box was completely different and looked like that. It was a genuine Calsonic drier, the same one as you would get from the dealer for $rape.
