Sorry guys,

I have another emissions question.

I have reinstalled all my emissions, im idling a bit rough, but I need to pass emissions. My question is how do i test that my cat is working?

Once i pass emissions, Ill do a complete write up so others dont have this problem.

thanks

scara

I don't have the info infront of me, but there is a test using an infared thermometer to read the temperature at the front of the cat, and at the rear of the cat. There should be a noticible difference, I believe hotter in the back of the cat.

If the temperature is the same both ends, then it isn't working properly.

Someone can chime in if they know the specs on what temp and temp difference there should be.

I would think you would also want to test it to make sure it is flowing ok, guess that's wy they used to sell test pipes to see how the truck ran after you removed the cat.
