From Stock To 4X4 Ready

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone

This is my first post here so please bear with me.

My pathfinder was making strange noises so i took it to the stealers and had them look it over, long and short of it is that i need to replace the suspension, struts, rear suspension likages and brakes. So i figure its a perfect excuse to start upgradeing my 98 chilkoot pathfinder from its curent stock set up. I figure a lift, new suspension likages, bushings, skid plate and some other armour. If anyone has some suggestions for engine upgrades and anyother other equipment mods please let me know. These mods arent really anything hardcore, just designed to the be more suited to riding on harsher conditions( logging roads Also what is the best way to go about installing all the goodies?

thanks

HEY! Glad to see you made it over here. So here are the mods you should do:

Manual Hubs

AC 2" lift springs

KYB GR2 struts up front

New shocks in back (I'm not sure which, but hear Bilstein are the way to go for 2" lift)

NX4 1" front spacer - If you don't do an SFD (to get rid of the rake if yo don't like it)

SFD - contact shift220 about this (check the pinned topics to learn more about this mod)

Polyurethane rear bushings and maybe do the fronts too! (or if you got the money, those links from rugged rocks I showed you on the other forum are bad ass!!)

Fluerys skid plate (and he has another one in development! And makes one specifically for the SFD!)

Rear hitch if you don't have one

32" tires

15 or 16 x8 wheels (with about 4" of back spacing)

new steering rack bushings (you'll need them)

Snorkel or custom Intake.

Thats all I can think of for now. Enjoy!

Jose

Not sure if you need everything listed above...

If you are looking for a lift, read the pinned threads in the FAQ's about suspension lifts.

If you are interested in skidplates, there are a couple for sale in the classified section, you may save some $$$.
