Hello everyone!! :takebow: I am new here of course and also have some questions. I just want to get started by saying that I have always liked pathfinders(especially the 1990-1995 models) and have always been interested in them. I currently own a 2004 Jeep Wrangler that I rock crawl with on the weekends. My future wife needs a vehicle, so I am looking at pathfinders since I will also be driving it once and a while :D . We will be taking trips up to the local mountains and do some off roading in mud and snow mostly so I think having the Pathfinder will be more comfortable than my Jeep when taking my family with us. I am looking at mostly 1994-1995's because they seem to be in better condition and have lower mileage. I found a 1995 xe with 125K for $4000.00 . Its a v6 auto, 4x4. What do you guys think about that deal? The pathy is in excellent cosmetic condition as well. Also, are there any certain things I should pay attention to before I buy this vehicle as far as known problematic areas on a pathy? I trust Nissan because 3 of my buddies had Nissan pickups with the v6 that all went well over 250K, so at 125k this certain pathy I am looking at should still be ok for a while. Thanks in advance!!

welcome franco, I found this a really helpful little article too:

first time buyer

Wow that's great info  I also wanted to say that I went to look at the 95 Pathfinder I was talking about earlier. First thing I looked at was the Exhaust man.

There were a couple of bolts missing from each side. I then started the cold engine and I immediately heard exhaust leaks from both sides of the engine. I then noticed a busted fog light because it looks like it was in a little fender bender. I also noticed that there was rust bubbling where the roof rack met the roof. I didn't get to drive it because I was in a hurry so I am still thinking about this one. I will NOT pay 4k that's for sure. What are you opinions on this?

Be very careful with rust. It's not a desireable thing to have on any potential car regardless of price. If you don't mind the work, you can do this:

unneccessary work

that manifold might cost big bucks, depending on many things.

A test drive would also be in order, but the rust only gets worse and worse depending on your climate, unless you give it a decent amount of time/attention. If there are other choices in your area, I would pass on that one. Here's a spread of 95's in my area for comparison of price:

This one looked really good and still kinda young in terms of milage:

Looks like it is on the curb just to make more room. The cars look pretty packed in there. I would assume anything wrong.
