Cat Install Question

I'm looking to install a magnaflow 22760. I received the part in the mail today and took it out to the truck for some recon. It appears the stock cat's flange is threaded and the bolts attach to it thusly. The replacement cat has no such threads. Now the cat came with no bolts and I assume that there is some gaskets necessary to seal this baby. I happen to have some grade 8 bolts, nuts and split/locking washers handy. Are these acceptable fasteners? bear with me ,I'm new at this. but I'm having a good time!

Yes, you need a gasket, but some people (GrimGreg IIRC) just used permatex copper. I'd go with the gasket or both. The hardware sounds fine, it really isn't that critical. Don't overtorque (it bends the flanges) and you can always go tighter later.
