timmeh77
Can someone walk me through the removal/installation of lower front ball joints on a 92 pathfinder. I have got them separated and have disconnected everything a chiltons guide tells me to but i cannot get them out. There does not seem to be enough space between the knuckle and the cv joint to remove them. What needs to be disconnected to create that space? adamzan
You need to remove the hub and snap ring, and push the cv out to make room. That is what I had to do.
timmeh77
Thanks, that is what i was thinking but hoping i did not need to do. so you remove the hub and snap ring then are able to slide the cv out an inch or two and create the space? Anything I should know about removing a hub, i am pretty ignorant about what is in there and what is important. -Tim
Cyril
Had no probs when doing mine , just lifted the upper control arm up with all connected ( minus the lower joint connected ). Just a thought , you don't have a jack or axle stand under the lower control arm which is stopping it reaching it's full movement ? ( could even remove the upper control arm rubber which gives another 1'' of room ) .
