Timing belt question

I have done my timing belt twice in the two years I have owned my pathy. The first time I messed up and had to go do it again, but the question is, does anybody know of a chain or gear drive conversion for the VG30? I doubt one exists, but I am hopeful. It would be nice because that job is a pain.

No, there is no conversion that I know of but I don't see how hard it would be to figure out... On the other hand, maybe the cam bearings aren't designed for it and you'd wind up mangling your head.

But if you did it correctly, you don't have to bother for another 100k miles...

dindn't the 95's get the same 100k belt that the vg33 motors run?

If I'm right then I'm sorry if this is :headwall: moment for ya.

If I'm wrong maybe lookinto the possibilty of the vg30de chain gears fitting on your cams and so on...

I don't really mind the changes (I own all the tools now and can knock it out in an afternoon), but I love the idea of just tensioning the chain once in a while and not giving it a second thought. Maybe someday I'll do it. Anybody seen a serpentine belt conversion? I know they make them for some of the v belt chevys.
