latly i have been having problems with the power steering......wondering if anyone esle too and got answers.....

 

the symptoms are when i either start out or im slowing down in to a turn i get squeaking and when i turn it feels like somthing is pushing me back.....

 

i think there is air pockets in the fluid?? possible maybe water is in it or sumthin else......the fluid looks dirty......does anyone have the specs on how to flush it out with out taking it to a shop.....and should i if i flush it use a dex 3 tranny fluid in it

 

# 2 been getting some intermidant missin in the engine.....idk what could be causing..... while stopped with it in drive the rpms will drop sometimes causing a stall unless i rev the engine.....what would cause this any takers......i have no idea. thought bout changing plugs and wires maybe even the distbutor cap.....but idk

P/S problem: Your power steering belt may be loose or worn out. Replace or tighten it. To flush the fluid, I think you need to remove both of the P/S hoses from the steering rack and let the system drain out. There may be some residual fluid left in the rack. DexIII ATF should work fine.

 

Misfiring: could be any number of things: bad plugs, wires, dist. cap/rotor, dirty fuel filter, dirty air filter, dirty MAF sensor, dirty throttle body, vacuum leak... Start with the easy stuff that you KNOW could benefit from being replaced. Plugs/cap/rotor/filters should be changed every 30,000 miles. If that doesn't solve your problems, start digging deeper: plug wires, vacuum lines, MAF sensor, etc.
