Change the fuel filter this morning and notice exhaust smoke coming from the engine compartment below the air intake hose. Basically the 1" hose that holds in place broke. Just curious what it is. Polution Pump or something? see pics.

that looks like the Pulsed Air Recirculation valve (PAIR) its basically an air pump to put exhaust gasses back in the engine for re-burning. I'd replace it if you want to keep decent gas mileage.
