Well I've been doing some more looking at the calmini SAS components and I found a Dana 44 out of a 91 wagoneer and I was wondering how much fabrication would be involved in a project like that. Would it even be worth my trouble to look into a conversion that big.

Depends how much trouble you like... :D

 

Leaf springs? Coil Over? 3 Link? All depends what you plan to do. Several members here have done the SAS. I can only recommend searching for the answers, they are here. trailchaser, Mookie, 87Pathy, Steevo, Vsicks and several others have posted valuable info...
