I have a tire mount inside my pathy but I need more room so I purchased a external tire carrier and now I neeed to install it. I have the two upper support brackets and no lower ones? 88pathoffroad Posted July 8, 2004 Share Posted July 8, 2004 You'll probably have to figure out some way to get nuts and braces inside the sheetmetal on yours. On the 90-up Pathfinders, they evidently decided to put the braces in every vehicle regardless of whether or not it had a tire carrier, but on the 87-89 vehicles, if it didn't have a external tire carrier, none of the inside braces are preinstalled.
