Oil leaks, crankshaft seal

Recommended Posts

I've been chasing oil leaks on my Mom's 97' pathfinder.

I replaced the crankshaft seal and it is still leaking.

Are you supposed to remove the oil pump to replace the front crankshaft seal?

This requires removing the oil pan and sounds like a major PITA.

Is it common to have leaks from behind the pump?

Oil has been dripping out the bottom of the timing cover for a while now.

Any suggestions?

When mine hit 120k miles, both camshaft seals were lightly leaking as well as the valve cover gaskets....
