I've been reading this site fairly avidly since I was first thinking about getting my Pathfinder and it took this long to find a question that wasn't already answered here already, so I decided to introduce myself.

Towards the end of last year I was finally sick of my little 2WD Toyota truck and decided I was going to get something more enjoyable. Originally the Pathfinder wasn't even on my radar, but between the high cost of Toyotas, a lack of Cherokees in the area at that moment, and my younger brother being willing to sell the Pathfinder for a reasonable price, the choice seemed clear. I traded him my truck (we agreed to value it at $1,000) and $750 for the Pathfinder, which I think was a fair deal for both of us considering the Pathy has been a never ending project since the day I got it.

So far I've been pretty happy with the vehicle. It seems every time I fix something, two more problems pop up, but I think it is just because it's at the stage in its life where it is needing to have some real care and I'm the lucky owner that gets to do it. I've only taken it off-road once, partly due to lack of time/money and partly due to the only legal off-roading in the area being beaches, which got old by the end of the first trip.

I have lots of things I'd love to do to it, but for now I'm just focusing on getting it into tip top condition. The Pathfinder is the first time I've ever done any mechanical work so I've been learning a huge amount, helped by my older brother (and this site, of course). Plans for the future once the basics are taken care of and as I get money are new bumpers (new isn't the word for the rear, as you can see in the pictures), a lift, and 32 inch tires.

Overall, I'm definitely happy with the vehicle and am very glad that I found such a great site to support it. :)

These driveway posing shots are the only ones that I have so far; they're a few months old but nothing's really changed yet on the outside.

This was my first woodworking project ever. It isn't up to the standards of the stuff on this site, but I'm happy with it none the less.
