irocjoecool
On my 1988 Pathfinder I think i need the voltage regulator. Tell me if I do. My gauges will sometimes work, sometime not brake light and Amp light come on when the gauges are NOT working Power windows will not go up or down if gauges are not working Is all of this because of the voltage regulator or do I have bigger fish to fry? STOMPER
Sounds like a short circuit to me.
Soccerstudd5
I had that problem on mine and there was a black wire that had come loose by the power connection on the battery. Simply resoldered it and plugged it back in.... problem solved. I'm guess there is a similar problem with yours. I just hope for your sake it's as easy to find as mine was. crazyhayseed
Do these trucks even have a stand alone voltage regulator? I thought the alternator handled that, like in the B13.

Like most older Japanese vehicles, there's a separate voltage regulator for the instrument panel only.

I'd never heard of such, but it sounds like something worth learning about.
