Pathy choking at idle?

Hey guys,

I just started noticing that my pathfinder is choking while I am at idle... and by choking I mean it revs then dies then rev then dies.... I seem to notice it the most when I am coasting down a hill the tachometer will bounce from 2k to 1k .. like it is choking for air or fuel... it seems to stop when the car warms up, and it doesn't happened when I have my foot on the break or on the gas.

 

I was thinking that this might have something to do with my exhaust leak... could my car be sucking in it's own exhaust in the air intake? or could this have something to do with the fact that I replaced the timing belt?

 

I replaced the Dizzy and the rotor and that didn't help..

 

Any advice would be great.

With an active EGR system, it will suck exhaust into the intake all by itself anyway. I'd suspect a sticky IAC valve, MAF sensor or something else like that.

 

Is the IAC on the side of the throttle body?
