WD21 body lift?- quick air intake fix

Hey there, this goes out to anybody with a body lift and the stock air box intake (1990+ I believe). If you have a BL and haven't messed with it, the air box (attached to the body) now sits above the intake on the engine (attached to the frame, duh!). Its not much of a big deal since the rubber intake hose flexes, but I'm sure it constricts the air quite a bit, and after a while the rubber cracked and deteriorated at the bends on mine.

I have a 3" BL, but didn't want to go with a K&N cone since I already have a K&N drop in filter, and have had water crossing & spashing issues on the trail as it is. So, I grabbed a "new" one from the junkyard, then figured I'd just fix it. I didn't get a "before" pic, but you can see from the dirty old one the angles that it bent.

And here are some of the cracks. Luckily, they're not all the way through yet.

The air box mounts with 3 bolts/mounts, 2 on the fender side, and one toward the engine. I just pulled that 1 mount on the engine side out, drilled a new hole up an inch or so, bent as needed to fit the countours, and put it back in. This tilted the box enough, lowering it toward the engine on that side, and making it line up much better with the intake on the engine.

(the old hole is to the lower left on that part I bent away, and the new hole is above it, you can still see the burrs)
