hey guys im on my second alternator in 3 weeks i think they are blowing up because of deep water and playing in the rivers any body no of any secrerts to make the alternator more "waterproof"

Nope. Other than relocating them to the AC compressor's location, there isn't much you can do.

i was thinking maybe there was a way to make them more "waterproof" went in the deep water once and it fried the alternator

yeah last I heard, water and electricity (especially generators) dont really mix too well....and if you want to keep submerging the rig that deep in water, might as well build up a stock pile of extra alternators

 

Personally I would prefer to stick to good ol' fashion mud fun and leave the deep stuff to the swamp buggies.

 

but to each their own right! gotta have fun!

i would just make sure i carry some water with my to the trail head that way when i go into the deep stuff i can then get out and wash out my alty before the long drive back home. then when i get home i always wash it out with a garden hose

Yeah....it's not so much water that hurts them, it's mud packed in there, and/or, muddy water clogging up the sliders for the brushes.....
