Iron Locust Posted September 9, 2007 Share Posted September 9, 2007 The Siege of Leningrad (Russian: блокада Ленинграда (transliteration: blokada Leningrada)) was the German siege of Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) during World War II and was the longest siege of a city in history. The German plan was coded as Operation Nordlicht (Operation North Light).
