Thinkin Of New Rims

I want to get a set of **** cepek rims for my 03 R50. my concern is the tires hitting the strut mount. I already have 265/70/16 tires on the stock 16x7 rims and the tires are just missing the strut mount. My question is will the new 16x8 rims fit? will it give the tire that extra bit to hit the strut mount? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Get backspacing of 3.75 or 4" and they shouldn't hit.

also, im pretty sure i know the answer to this, but does a suspension lift affect the position of the strut mount?

No. The lower spring perch on the strut is not affected by a coil spring (suspension) lift.
